Darlene
Registered Dental Hygienist
Darlene has been a hygienist at Dunstan Dental Center since 1989 and was a graduate of Westbrook College--now known as UNE. She is a past member of the Maine Dental Board of Examiners, which she enjoyed serving on for 5 years. Darlene is also a long time Scarborough resident and still lives here today with her husband, Ric, and chocolate lab, Styx. She has 2 grown daughters, Katrina, who lives in Austin TX, and Samantha who lives in Saco. In her spare time, Darlene loves raising chickens and enjoys volunteering at a local school.
Abbie
Registered Dental Hygienist
Abbie was born and raised in Standish on the Sebago Lake Basin. After graduating from UNE with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene, she was hired full time and has been with Dunstan Dental Center since 2013. Abbie now lives in Scarborough with her husband, Zak, two rescue dogs, Henry and Luna, and an extremely strange cat named Phil.
Shawna
Registered Dental Hygienist
Shawna joined the Dunstan Dental team in 2008 upon graduating dental hygiene school at the University College of Bangor. Shawna resides in Scarborough with her husband, son, and dog. Shawna enjoys the beach and participating in triathlons.
Thea
Lead Dental Assistant
Thea is Dr. Joseph Penna’s assistant as well as the Lead Assistant. She joined the Dunstan Dental Center team in 2009. Thea is the proud aunt to 3 nephews and 1 niece. In her spare time, Thea enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Peggy
Front Desk
Peggy moved from her empty nested home in Conway New Hampshire to Scarborough Maine with her husband. She joined the front desk team in 2019 and enjoys greeting each patient as they walk through the door, and helping them feel welcomed and at ease for their appointments. On her down days, Peggy enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and friends, painting, and riding her bike. She has three grown children and four grandchildren.
Erica
Patient Financial Manager /
Treatment Plan Coordinator
Erica graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. She joined Dunstan Dental Center as part of the front desk team in 2013 and is currently our Patient Financial Manager. She enjoys helping patients with their billing and scheduling needs to get them closer to their dental goals. When not at work, Erica enjoys hiking with her son and husband.
Jessica
Registered Dental Hygienist
Jessica is a registered dental hygienist who graduated from the University of New England in 2017. She joined the Dunstan Dental team in February 2019 making her one of the newest hygienist in the practice. She also works at a pediatric dental office which she really enjoys. Jessica and her fiance Daniel live in Buxton with their 2 cats Cali and Grayson and their puppy Parker. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and staying active outside with Parker.
Sandy
Registered Dental Hygienist
Sandy is originally from Framingham, MA and is a graduate of Westbrook College(currently UNE). After college she proudly served in the US Navy, was stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI, Bethesda, MD and settled down n Washington State. Sandy recently received her authorization to administer anesthesia and be an Independent Practice Dental Hygienist in the state of Maine. She has 3 married children and 2 grandchildren who reside in Washington State. She and her dog, Dexter, recently moved to Maine to be close to her mother in Biddeford. She is spending her free time exploring the beautiful state of Maine!
Missy
Registered Dental Hygienist /
Office Coordinator
Missy is a registered dental hygienist who has been part of the Dunstan Dental team since 1994. She graduated from Westbrook College (University of New England) in 1994. Missy has a strong passion for abused and neglected dogs. She will take them in as needed and provide them with loving and safe home until they are ready to be adopted. She currently resides in Dayton with her husband, three daughters, and her special fur babies. Her favorite quote: “Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”

Haley joined the office with three years of experience in 2019. She graduated dental assisting school in 2016 at dental careers institute. Haley grew up in Baldwin, Maine and loves spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, and watching football.
Jennifer
Registered Dental Hygienist
Jennifer grew up in Enfield, a small town in Northern Maine. She now resides in Waterboro with her husband, two children, and her boy (pet dog), Cash. She graduated from the University of Maine in 1997 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She went on to further her education at the University of Maine, Augusta, receiving her Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in 2016. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, motorcycling, and snowmobiling.

Dental Assistant
Molly is from Cornish, ME. She joined the U.S Army in 2013 where she earned her dental assistant certification. Molly joined the team in 2019 with six years of experience. Molly enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog Apollo.

Haley grew up in Waterboro, Maine. She loves spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, and spending time with her horses.

Front Desk Manager
Crysta graduated from Smith College with a B.A in Psychology and Education. She joined our front desk team in 2018. She enjoys trying new restaurants, hanging out in coffee shops, taking her dog Tank for car rides, and watching movies with her husband Austin.
Taylor
Front Desk
Taylor grew up in the Bangor area and graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a B.M. in musical theatre in 2017. He joined DDC as part of the front desk team in 2020. Taylor still performs in his spare time and enjoys spending time with friends and family. He will also talk to anyone who will listen about Survivor and he firmly believes that even though he hates the outdoors he will win it someday.
Chucky
Office Mascot
Chucky floats around, greeting patients young and old. He is always on time, polite and keeps his shell clean.
