Dunstan Dental Center
Policy on Dental Insurance & Payments

Please reach out to us with any questions

All estimated portions and non-covered charges are expected to be paid on the date services are rendered. We encourage all patients to be aware of what is covered or excluded from their dental plan prior to treatment to avoid unexpected costs.

We accept all major credit cards, cash, checks, and are a participating office with CareCredit.

New patients will be required to pay all charges in full at time of service unless we are able to verify the dental coverage prior to their first appointment.

All appointments will be charged a $50 broken appointment fee for the time reserved if 24 business hours notice is not given. Cancellation fees must be paid before the next visit is scheduled.

We will gladly submit claims to most primary insurances as a courtesy to our patients. We do not submit claims to MaineCare.

We are a participating provider with Northeast Delta Dental and many others, please contact your insurance directly to verify if we are an in-network provider.

Many dental insurances offer out of network benefits, which are sometimes equal to in network coverage. If you are out of network, we recommend speaking with your insurance company to inquire about your out of network coverage.

Please call your insurance company or go to their website for answers to questions that are plan-specific.

Ask your insurance the following questions:
  • What is my maximum benefit per year?

  • What is my deductible?

  • When does my benefit year begin?

  • Is there a waiting period for restorative work?

  • What is the amount of remaining benefits?

  • How often am I eligible for cleanings, exams, x-rays?

  • (For secondary insurance) Are benefits coordinated with the primary?
